Fred Penn Park

 

Fred Penn Park has sand volleyball courts, a fishing pond, and access to the Elkhorn River, making it a great spot for both visitors and locals to enjoy.

Riverside Park 

 

Near the edge of the yard, walk across the old steel bridge complete with wooden planks, Then cross the swinging foot bridge into Riverside Park.

There you'll find ball fields, the Antelope County Fairgrounds, playgrounds, Ball fields and a swimming pool. It's a hub for recreation and community events.  

 

White Buffalo Girl Grave

 

White Buffalo Girl's grave in Neleigh, Nebraska, marks the resting place of a young Ponca girl who died during the tribe's forced relocation in 1877. Her father, Black Elk, asked the local settlers to care for her grave, and it's been respected and maintained ever since. Her story is a poignant reminder of the hardships faced by the Ponca tribe.

 

The Neligh Mill

 

The Neligh Mill, now part of the Nebraska Historical Society, showcases the region's milling history. Housed in a historic building, it offers exhibits on the milling process, agricultural equipment, and the early settlers' lifestyle. The museum highlights the mill's significance in Neligh's development, serving as a window into the past economic and social life of the community.

 

The Antelope County Courthouse 

 

The Antelope County Courthouse is a historic building known for its classic architectural design. Built in the early 20th century, it serves as the center for county government and houses various public offices. This courthouse is not only a functional government building but also a notable landmark in the community, reflecting the area's history and heritage.

 

The Antelope County Museum

 

 The Antelope County Museum showcases local history with exhibits on Native American artifacts, pioneer tools, and antique machinery. The complex includes a historic jail, a replica log cabin, and the Pioneer Church, offering a glimpse into the area's diverse past.

 

The Pierson Wildlife Museum

 

The Pearson Wildlife Museum features a collection of taxidermy wildlife from North America, Africa, and other regions. It offers visitors a chance to learn about various animal species and their habitats through detailed displays and educational programs. The museum serves as a resource for wildlife conservation and education.

 

Grove Lake

 

Not far from the Suite Neligh River House is Grove Lake. Part of the Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area in Nebraska, it spans over 2,000 acres. It's known for a 50-acre lake offering top-notch fishing, and it's a prime habitat for deer, turkey, pheasant, and quail. It's a nature lover's haven.
